We all know that person who tells everyone what a great sales person they are: “I’ve been selling all my life!”
No, you have been talking all of your life.
Inevitably, these people will sell their products and services because the client, their victim, can’t stand to listen to them anymore and will buy just to get rid of them and get back to business. A successful sales person is someone who does much more listening than talking. They hear things that the client says that help to determine exactly how the salesperson can HELP them, not “sell” them. When you help someone solve a problem or reach a goal, they are more apt to invite you back, to consider your ideas, and to trust you.
Now, go sell something!
